Blog Beginnings

You've got to start somewhere right?

Well, here I am.

After inspiration from a fellow teacher, I have decided that Blogging could be a great way to update my class and perhaps my friends, on information and events. I can't hope to produce such eloquent and entertaining prose as the aforementioned educator... however, I can try :0)

At best, this experiment will result in providing me with a forum for my unique and unusual ramblings and my students with a means to better understand their learning. It may even help me to improve my ICT skills - shock horror!

At worst, usual hectic-craziness-of-life-pace will overtake my life and I'll be either unable to find time to pen anything, or what does get added with be incomprehensible drivel. Perhaps it will be amusing even if it is a failure.

The past year I have met some new and unusual people and have enjoyed the fresh perspectives they've provided me with... after all... we shortchange ourselves by continually doing the same thing and surrounding ourselves with the same people. Such as 'travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness'(Mark Twain), so 'unselective sociability is fatal to boredom, any kind of -ism, and loneliness'(Me!).

Travelling to Japan this year, and undertaking my new Agricultural Science in Schools focus will, no doubt, continue to ensure I have an endless supply of new faces in my life. I am forever grateful for the opportunities I am often presented with as a teacher. Life is good.

  1. Good for you, Amie. I think the key to blogging is to make it useful to you. Don't ever feel bad if you have too much going on to post to it.
    All the best for blog-thousand-and-ten!
